How to automate podcast show notes responsibly
A source-grounded process for drafting podcast show notes faster while preserving facts, links, and editorial voice.

Short answer
Automate the first draft from a corrected transcript, then verify claims, names, resources, and timestamps before publishing a shorter listener-focused version.
Start from the episode, not a topic prompt
A transcript constrains the draft to what was actually said. Include the show’s preferred tone and output structure, but do not ask the model to fill missing facts.
- Use the final audio or corrected transcript
- Supply verified guest links separately
- Ask the draft to flag uncertainty
Write for a scanning listener
Good notes quickly answer what the episode covers, why it matters, and where a listener can go next. They do not need to repeat the full transcript.
- Open with a two- or three-sentence summary
- List concrete takeaways
- Separate guest resources from sponsor or affiliate links
Make review a required step
Automation saves drafting time, not editorial responsibility. Compare the finished notes with the source and check that every public link works.
- Verify names, numbers, and quotations
- Check timestamps against the final cut
- Add disclosure where commercial relationships exist
