What is Teaser / Trailer?
A trailer is a short (1-2 minute) promotional audio clip released before a podcast launches or before a new season begins, designed to generate hype and subscribers.
Why Teaser / Trailer Matters for Podcasters
A trailer is often the very first thing uploaded to a podcast feed (Episode 0). Its purpose is twofold: 1) To verify that the RSS feed is working correctly on all platforms before the launch day, and 2) To give potential listeners a taste of the show so they can subscribe early. A great trailer highlights the best moments, introduces the host, and clearly states the value proposition ('In this show, you will learn...'). Trailers are also swapped between podcasters for cross-promotion.
